Warehouse Operations Statement

Warehouse Operations Statement

BOSTON – July 23, 2018 – The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) is committed to our mission of ending hunger here in Eastern Massachusetts. In 2018, we initiated a priority project to invest in our operations and customer service technology to help us reach as many food-insecure people in our area as possible.

After more than a year of planning, we launched a new technology system in June. As with the implementation of any new software there were some initial issues that needed to be addressed. That new system and an economy-driven staffing shortage caused a disruption to our operations. We apologize to those who were inconvenienced by this. We are pleased to report that we have addressed these issues and have ramped up our systems and services to maximize distribution.

Thanks to the responsiveness and resiliency of our distribution network we overcame these technical interruptions and are back to doing what we do best: providing healthy food every day to people struggling with hunger in 190 cities and towns across Eastern Massachusetts.
