Donations raised through a food or fund drive help us provide more healthy meals to our neighbors in need.

Hosting a fundraising campaign with friends, family, or colleagues is a fun and exciting way to make a lasting impact on The Greater Boston Food Bank’s (GBFB’s) work. Celebrating a birthday or graduation? Set up a peer-to-peer fundraiser to bring attention to the issue of hunger. Your support helps us acquire and provide more nutritious food for our hunger-relief network across Eastern Massachusetts.

To set up peer-to-peer fundraiser in support of GBFB, all it takes is a few simple steps! Our fundraising platform is easy-to-use, gives you the space to explain why our cause matters to you, and helps you communicate with supporters.

How to Get Started

  • Create a peer-to-peer fundraising page or team to help raise awareness and funds for our food insecure neighbors.
  • Make the page your own by setting a fundraising goal, updating the profile picture, and sharing your personal story.
  • Share your fundraiser with friends, family, and colleagues who are interested in helping GBFB end hunger in Eastern Massachusetts and secure support for your fundraising campaign.
  • Communicate regular updates to your networks so they can help you reach your goal!

Food Drives

In an effort to enhance operational efficiencies to better serve our Eastern Massachusetts community, we are no longer accepting walk-in food donations at our warehouse in Boston.

If you have already organized a food drive or have food you’re interested in donating, visit our Need Food page to find a partner agency in your area. We recommend calling ahead to find out if they’re accepting donations.

Interested in donating fresh, healthy items (like fruits and vegetables) to GBFB? Try hosting a #GIVEHEALTHY food drive! Once you register, a webpage will be set up for your drive, and you can share the link with your group. The items available for donation will be based on GBFB’s needs, and all of the food will be delivered to GBFB at no cost! Learn more about how it works and register for a #GIVEHEALTHY drive.


YouGiveGoods provides a customized corporate giving event by raising the most needed food and personal hygiene items for GBFB. YouGiveGoods’ easy to use platform allows your employees to shop online and support your event. A tax receipt is provided to every donor at the time of purchase for their records and all donations are delivered right to GBFB’s warehouse! Through YouGiveGood’s Giveback Program, YouGiveGoods will donate a 5% cash donation to GBFB based on the retail value of all items purchased as part of any sponsored drive.
