The Greater Boston Food Bank to Host 16th Annual “Women Fighting Hunger” Fundraiser October 23, Honoring The ‘Quin House Co-Founder Sandy Edgerley

Philanthropist, consultant, and real estate powerhouse to be celebrated for longtime dedication to hunger relief

Boston, MA (June 11, 2025) – On October 23, The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) will hold its annual Women Fighting Hunger breakfast at the Seaport Hotel Boston, marking the 16th annual women-led celebration of GBFB’s mission to end hunger here and empower families, raising funds to distribute nutritious food across Eastern Massachusetts as 1 in 3 of the state’s residents face food insecurity.

After founding real estate firm Hexagon Properties in 2015, Edgerley co-founded The ‘Quin House, Back Bay’s modern private social club, offering an inclusive space for cross-generational and industry-agnostic community-building. She has also served on more than 15 nonprofit boards including the Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston, The Boston Foundation, City Year, and The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce.

Edgerley will be honored for her long-standing philanthropic commitment to GBFB in support of ending hunger in Eastern Massachusetts. In addition to her personal support, The ‘Quin House Impact Fund and its members have individually and collectively provided generous philanthropic support and have volunteered at the GBFB warehouse for nearly 400 hours in the last few years.

“It’s an incredible honor to be recognized by The Greater Boston Food Bank, an organization whose mission is essential to helping our community thrive,” said Edgerley. “Addressing food security takes our collective will, compassion, and action and I’m thrilled to continue to contribute to the important work that The Greater Boston Food Bank does to end hunger.”

The Women Fighting Hunger Committee, the volunteer group behind this event, convenes compassionate business and community leaders around the pervasive issue of hunger, seeking to promote widespread support, awareness and advocacy for GBFB and to empower children and families with access to healthy food. Since Women Fighting Hunger’s inception in 2010, the group has raised millions of dollars, providing the equivalent of over 6.5 million nutritious meals through GBFB’s hunger-relief network.

“The Women Fighting Hunger Committee has a long legacy of groundbreaking fundraising that creates meaningful change for the millions of our neighbors for whom hunger is a daily reality,” said Catherine D’Amato, GBFB president and CEO. “This year’s event provides an opportunity to honor Sandy Edgerley, a visionary leader and hunger-relief champion whose career is rooted in transformative and mission-driven philanthropy. Sandy’s longstanding dedication to our mission has made a lasting impact on GBFB’s capacity to empower those in need to feed their families; this is someone who truly embodies the purposeful and profound generosity that fuels Women Fighting Hunger.”

The fundraiser will arrive at a time of immense need, as federal hunger-relief funding dwindles, proven programs that support food security such as SNAP and school meals are currently facing threats, and high costs of living, groceries, and housing continue to exacerbate the problem of hunger.
