Women Fighting Hunger is a compassionate group of business and community leaders working with The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) to end hunger here. Over the last 11 years, the committee and supporters have created a philanthropic movement to improve the health and well-being of the communities they live in.
Since 2010, the dedicated members of Women Fighting Hunger have helped to raise awareness around our mission to end hunger here, and together have raised enough to provide millions of healthy meals to people struggling with hunger.
Committee members ambitiously worked to rally their networks to raise funds to support the campaign to help our struggling neighbors. Matching sponsors UBS and DentaQuest Partnership for Oral Health Advancement and Catalyst Institute generously matched the first $20,000 of giving. In total, our committee raised $102,000 for our spring campaign.
In fall 2020, the Women Fighting Hunger committee again rallied support with a virtual campaign in lieu of our annual breakfast. Members engaged their personal and professional networks to support GBFB raising funds and local awareness in their communities by posting WFH signage at their homes. Members engaged corporate holiday parties and rallied donations to give back during the holiday season. To date, we have exceeded over $104,000 for our fall campaign.
Together, our 2020 WFH fundraising campaign raised over $206,000. Members remain dedicated supporting GBFB by volunteering at our facility, in the community and continuing to fundraise and engage their networks.
