RECALL: Hannaford, Taste of Inspirations, and Nature’s Place Ground Beef
Hannaford has issued a recall of ground beef with a sell-by date of December 17th, 2011 or earlier because it may be contaminated with a multi-drug resistant strain of Salmonella Typhimurium.
The following products with a sell-by date of 12/17/11 or earlier are included in the recall:
- - "73% Hannaford Regular Ground Beef”
- - "75% Hannaford Regular Ground Beef"
- - "80% Hannaford Regular Ground Beef"
- - "85% Hannaford Regular Ground Beef"
- - "90% Hannaford Regular Ground Beef"
- - "80% Taste of Inspirations Angus Ground Beef"
- - "85% Taste of Inspirations Angus Ground Beef"
- - "90% Taste of Inspirations Angus Ground Beef"
- - "85% Nature's Place Ground Beef"
- - "90% Nature's Place Ground Beef"
What You Should Do:
- - Check your inventory. Sort all miscellaneous boxes of meat.
- - Discard product immediately!
- - Encourage clients to check their refrigerators at home and discard product.

RECALL: Ocean Spray Craisins (Original Flavor)
Ocean Spray has issued a voluntary recall on several pack sizes of Craisins, Original Flavor.

RECALL: Rich Fields Butter Cookies
Rite Aid has initiated a voluntary chain-wide recall of approximately 85,000 tins of butter cookies distributed by Rite Aid under the Rich Fields brand name because of the possibility of contamination with Bacillus cereus.
Product Details
Size: 12-ounce tins
Each package contains decorative castle or Christmas design cookies and is sold exclusively at Rite Aid stores. Affected products can be identified by the UPC codes 01249596519 and 88411804619 located directly beneath the bar code on the bottom of each tin.
Illness Details
Microorganism: Bacillus cereus
Symptoms: This microorganism may cause diarrhea, nausea and/or vomiting; however, the possibility of serious adverse health consequences is remote.
What You Should Do
- Check your inventory, including can drives.
- Discard product immediately.
- Encourage clients to check their cabinets at home and discard product.
