Charitable Gift Annuities

If you are looking to create an income stream for yourself or others while supporting The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB), a charitable gift annuity may be right for you. GBFB offers charitable gift annuities in partnership with Feeding America.

With our program, when you fund a charitable gift annuity with a gift of $10,000 or more, you would choose one or two people who are 65 or older to immediately start receiving fixed, dependable payments for life. The amount of the payment is based on the age(s) of the recipient(s). After the end of the payment stream, the remaining value would support GBFB’s compassionate mission.

Benefits of establishing a charitable gift annuity include:

• Creation of a stable income stream—for life.
• Eligibility for a federal income tax charitable deduction in the year the gift annuity is established.
• Tax-free income for a period of time.
• Flexibility to fund with cash, publicly traded appreciated stock held long-term, or, if 70½ or older, a one-time direct transfer of up to $55,000 from a traditional IRA.
