After more than three years building the Rise & Shine MA coalition, we saw the fruits of our labor this summer when “Breakfast After the Bell” became law.
After a three-year campaign, we’ve finally achieved our goal: students at-risk of hunger in Massachusetts will have access to Breakfast After the Bell!
Letters and drawings of thanks were received by Needham’s St. Joseph’s Kindergarten class.
1 in 9 children in MA struggle with food insecurity; Rise and Shine Massachusetts is building a movement to change that.
While MA is known as a leader in public education, less than half that qualify for school breakfast in low-income schools are starting their days fed and ready to learn.
This latest development means we are closer to providing access to school breakfast to more than 150,000 children in need across the Commonwealth.
