On April 7, GBFB led an advocacy training to empower volunteers to stand up for hunger-relief policies. Following the training, we walked to the Massachusetts State House to ask our legislators to support $58 million in the state budget for the Massachusetts Emergency Food
Assistance Program (MEFAP) as well as additional funding to support the administration of SNAP benefits.
MEFAP helps the four Massachusetts food banks purchase healthy, locally-produced food for our neighbors in need. It is a critical tool for hunger relief—all while supporting our local Massachusetts farmers and food vendors. Sign up for our advocacy alerts and learn how you can help.
