2018 Giving Tuesday

Published on December 7, 2018

At The Greater Boston Food Bank, we rely on the support of our donors and volunteers. We are so grateful for all who rallied behind us on #GivingTuesday by liking or sharing our social posts, creating a Facebook Fundraiser or donating to help provide healthy holiday meals to families, seniors, and veterans in need.

With the help of our donors, we came close to meeting our goal of 15,000 meals and raised enough money to provide just over 14,000 holiday meals during our Giving Tuesday campaign.

The need extends beyond Giving Tuesday. Donations all year long help GBFB provide fresh fruits and vegetables, proteins, dairy and other food items through our network of hunger relief agencies. If you were unable to donate during our Giving Tuesday campaign, there is still time to help provide holiday meals for our neighbors in need. Consider making a donation today to help reach our #GivingTuesday Goal of 15,000 holiday meals.

From Black Friday through Giving Tuesday, we highlighted Stories of Hope on social media, including:

Stories of Hope: Heba
“It was hard going to the grocery store.
I was crying from the pressure and didn’t know what to do.”

Stories of Hope - Irma
“Between paying bills, rent and everything else, we’re just trying to survive,”
