More Than 220,000 Meals Made Possible at Women Fighting Hunger Breakfast

Published on September 12, 2013

On Wednesday, September 11, more than 300 women gathered for GBFB’s annual Women Fighting Hunger Breakfast at the Mandarin Oriental. GBFB honored Chef Jody Adams for her commitment to ending hunger. “Jody has been a tremendous supporter of GBFB for more than 10 years. Both Trade and Rialto participate in our annual Super Hunger Brunch each January, and Jody has been a tremendous advocate on our behalf. She is actively involved in our Culinary Committee, and is always willing to lend her time and talents to advance our mission to end hunger here,” said Catherine D’Amato, GBFB President and CEO. Attendees also heard from Amanda Donovan, a passionate and accomplished professional who found herself needing the help of The Open Door Food Pantry in Gloucester, MA. Open Door receives much of its food from GBFB. Read Amanda’s Story here. The breakfast was made possible by Lead Sponsor Clarke Kitchens and event sponsors Eaton Vance, Rasky Baerlein, Baking Steel, Davio’s Boston and Home Market Foods. Together,  event attendees raised enough funds to provide more than 220,000 meals for those in need. GBFB thanks everyone involved for making this year’s Women Fighting Hunger Breakfast such a success. Everyone has a role in ending hunger in our community.
