Volunteers at The Greater Boston Food Bank play a critical role in helping to end hunger in eastern Massachusetts. Join us for a unique and meaningful experience where you will learn about hunger in our community and help your neighbors in need.

VOLUNTEER SHIFTS

Morning shift: 9:30am – 12:00pm
Afternoon shift: 1:00pm – 3:30pm
Wednesday nights: 5:30pm – 8:00pm

Monday through Saturday

(June through August, Saturday shifts are morning shifts only, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, unless otherwise arranged.)

WHY VOLUNTEER AT GBFB?

You want to play your critical role in ending hunger in eastern Massachusetts.
You join GBFB and others in our community in feeding as many as 545,000 people annually.
You help sort your share of the more than 3 million pounds of food volunteers pack for distribution each year to those in need.

REQUIRED SERVICE INFORMATION

We accept both court-ordered and school required community service volunteers on a case-by-case basis. All court-ordered volunteers must be approved by the Volunteer Department before beginning their service.
Once you have completed your service the Volunteer Department would be happy to give you a letter stating the number of hours you completed.
