GBFB’s Kitchen Cabinet “Step Into Summer” Event a Success

Published on June 14, 2012

On Tuesday, June 12, The Greater Boston Food Bank’s Kitchen Cabinet chairs Sarah Biller, Hannah Commoss and Kirby Lunger welcomed Kitchen Cabinet members and friends to Step Into Summer in the Courtyard at CLINK, The Liberty Hotel.  The social event is the Kitchen Cabinet’s semiannual fundraiser to benefit GBFB. More than 130 guests attended the event, which raised nearly $14,000, enough money to provide more than 30,000 meals for those in need across Eastern Massachusetts. The evening featured live music by The Crazy Young Buffaloes, who donated their time and talent for the evening, as well as donated beer and wine from Harpoon Brewery and 90+ cellars. A silent auction was held with donated items including a one night stay in deluxe accommodations at the Four Seasons Hotel Boston, lunch for four at The Courtyard Restaurant at the Boston Public Library, Red Sox tickets, and five in home personal training sessions with David Tremblay. Kitchen Cabinet is a group of greater Boston-area professionals dedicated to ending hunger in our community.  Since 2005, the group has engaged friends, colleagues and neighbors to raise awareness and funding through a series of signature events and special volunteer opportunities.
