Hunger Doesn’t Take a Summer Break For thousands of children in Eastern Massachusetts who depend on school breakfast or lunch, summer means two months without reliable access to nutritious food. The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) helps bridge the summer meal gap through our network of over 500 food pantries, meal programs and emergency shelters as well as direct distribution sites like our School-based Pantries. GBFB operates nine School-based Pantries in high need areas across Eastern Massachusetts. This year, we’re expanding the number of School-based Pantries that operate during the summer, from four to seven schools. At each school, families receive 40-50 pounds of healthy food. Annually, GBFB serves more than 92,000 children throughout our network. Your donation puts food on the table for these families and their children when they need it the most. Help us strike out hunger this summer. Every dollar you donate provides three healthy meals for someone in need. Copyright © 2018.
