Food is Medicine

In 2020 we were unable to host our annual Food is Medicine event, led by Dr. Allen Hamdan, Vice Chair Department of Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and this year we are again faced with the same challenges. For nine years, this Food is Medicine event has raised over 1.5 million meals for those in need across Eastern Massachusetts. This includes the $52,000 we raised online last year during GBFB’s Hunger Free Holiday’s campaign.

Even though we will not be gathering in person for a Food is Medicine event, we are hoping that you will support our work with a contribution to GBFB’s Hunger Free Holidays campaign and help us reach our goal of distributing more than 23 million healthy meals this holiday season.
