The event features an evening of cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, tours of the GBFB facility, and speakers sharing insights as to how you can play a role in ending hunger in our community.
This year we presented the inaugural Community Champion Food is Medicine Award to our partner and member agency, Community Servings. The award was accepted by David Waters, CEO. The award will be given annually to a GBFB partner agency that is advancing the awareness, understanding and implementation of the “food is medicine” concept.
Community Servings is a not-for-profit food and nutrition program providing services throughout Massachusetts to individuals and families living with critical and chronic illnesses. We give our clients, their dependent families, and caregivers appealing, nutritious meals, and send the message to those in greatest need that someone cares.
