Super Hunger On Your Own (all year 'round!)

Check out the wide ranging Super Hunger On Your Own activities that you can do solo or with family, friends, and colleagues, anytime during the year to help end hunger. Choose whatever suits your mood, your schedule, and your pocketbook. Remember. No matter what you decide to do — everyone has a role in fighting hunger. Thank you for doing your part!

Super Hunger At Home

Host a breakfast, lunch, dinner, brunch, or cocktails in your home. Prepare your specialty or try one of the recipes submitted by one of our Super Hunger celebrity chefs. Or make it a potluck! Ask your guests to help fight hunger by making a financial contribution to The Food Bank—suggested donation between $5 and $25. Collect your guests’ contributions and mail them to:

The Greater Boston Food Bank
Attn: Development
99 Atkinson Street
Boston, MA 02118

To help your guests learn about The Greater Boston Food Bank and show their support, ask us for Food Bank brochures, pins, and decals to have on hand. Call Barbara Burg at 617.427.5200.

Super Hunger At Work

Skip lunch for one day and donate the price of your tuna on rye or meatball sub to The Food Bank. Or take a pass for a week on your afternoon coffee run and help fight hunger. With every $1 you contribute, we can distribute $4 of donated food!

Head up a food drive at work or organize a group of your fellow employees to volunteer at The Food Bank. Or ask your employer to match your colleagues’ and your financial contributions to The Food Bank. Get the word out about all The Food Bank's upcoming activities and events.

Super Hunger With Your Family

Dedicate a meal with your family to talking about hunger in your community and what you can do. Suggest family members drop their spare change into a designated tin or bowl every night and donate what you’ve collected to The Food Bank at the end of the month. Suggest your children conduct a food drive in their schools. Propose volunteering with your children at one of our Kids Cafes, or visiting The Food Bank for a tour. For information on conducting a food drive, volunteering, or scheduling a Food Bank tour, call 617-427-5200.
