The Food Bank sees the nutritional value of the foods we deliver as key to our work. Our Nutrition staff develops guidelines to ensure that we meet nutrition standards and quality food goals; healthy food for kids, for seniors, foods that are nutritious and also respect ethnic preferences. In fact, we institute a Nutrition Measurement ranking system to ensure that at least 72% of our inventory meets the highest nutritional guidelines. But that's just the beginning. These rankings are listed on our agency shopping list to assist in choosing the best possible food for hungry clients and families. For more information on this system, contact the Nutrition Department at nutrition@gbfb.org
