| Are you tired of searching for recipes based on the selection of foods you have on
hand? Are you looking for a simple meal to cook quickly? Are you looking for a way to use up those
leftovers? Are you looking for recipes to distribute to clients?
If you said yes to any of these questions then you've come to the right place!
ClicknCookSM is a new service offered by The Greater Boston Food Bank's
Nutrition Department. It allows our member agencies and clients to search for recipes based on the actual
foods one has on hand. We tailored this program around the foods we often have in our inventory.
These foods include products regularly received through MEFAP, USDA, Co-Op and donations. With each recipe you
will find nutrition information! Every recipe listed here is available for you to copy and distribute as desired.
How to use ClicknCookSM:
- Under the Food List, click the box next to each item you want to cook with.
- Click submit at the bottom of the page.
- A new window will open with a list of recipes.
- Click on the recipe you would like to cook. The recipe will also open in a new window.
Note: At least one of your selected ingredients will be listed in the recipe.
Tips:
- Select a small number of foods to create a list of recipes containing your selections as main ingredients.
(The more foods you select, the longer the list of recipes. We are working on categorizing recipes into groups
related to the foods you selected.)
- For more recipe options feel free to select a similar item. If you are looking for 'ground turkey'
recipes, select it and 'ground beef' from the lists.
- You must disable any pop-up blockers in order for the new windows to open, or hold down the CTRL key when you click
Coming Soon:
- Recipes sorted by relevance! If you chose 'Kidney Beans' all the recipes with 'Kidney Beans' as a main ingredients
will be listed as a group. This will make it easier for you to choose the most helpful recipes.
- Food safety tips with every recipe!
- Additional recipes! Recipes will be added weekly regularly.
- Recipes for large quantities and meals programs.
