Thank you to WAAF and everyone who helped
this year's Walk & Rock for Change raise
$102,286.03!!
This event started with Hill-man, Greg Hill trying to sit in every seat at Fenway Park. It has since grown and developed into two DJs walking from Manchester, NH and Worcester, MA into the WAAF station in Brighton, collecting money to help fight hunger along the way. In the past 18 years, they have raised more than $1,000,000 for The Greater Boston Food Bank and two other hunger-relief organizations.
During the three-day event, WAAF has instituted a full-on fight against hunger on-air as well, featuring a “pay-to-play” marathon. Listeners can call in to request songs — the more unusal the song, the more it costs to play.
Stay tuned for next year where you can help WAAF and The Greater Boston Food Bank in our 19th year of this truly rockin’ event!
