Volunteer : Kids Who Care

Kids Who Care is The Greater Boston Food Bank’s program for children as young as ten, so they can volunteer alongside families and friends bagging and boxing food for families at risk of hunger in eastern Massachusetts.

The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) runs the Kids Who Care (KWC) program for groups of 10-25 people that have volunteers as young as 10 years old, so they can volunteer alongside family and friends bagging and boxing food for children, seniors and veterans at risk of hunger in Eastern Massachusetts.

The KWC program centers around packing bags of groceries in our Family Friendly Room. Due to the size of this room group sizes can be no larger than 25 people (including chaperones). And, in order to ensure projects are completed, groups must have at least 10 volunteers. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate group sizes larger or smaller than this range, and we cannot allow any volunteers under 10 years of age.

    KWC events include:
  • An introduction to GBFB
  • Training in safety and food handling
  • A hands-on service activity
