The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is a federally funded program that provides free meals to children, ages 18 and under, when school is not in session. Meals are often provided in conjunction with educational and recreational activities.

Counselors at Project Bread's FoodSource Hotline refer callers to food resources in their communities, provide information on public programs, meal sites for the elderly, meals on wheels programs, salvage food distribution sites, and other programs that supply free or low-cost food.
