Hunger Relief on The Rooftop

Published on June 20, 2014

GBFB Honored At Emerson Commencement | The Greater Boston Food Bank
After a long and grueling winter The Greater Boston Food Bank young professionals Kitchen Cabinet group was excited to host its annual Step Into Summer event this week at The Revere Hotel Rooftop. Overlooking the Boston skyline Kitchen Cabinet members and co-chairs, Hannah Gilligan Commoss, Kirby Lunger and Sarah Biller, and over 100 of our GBFB friends came out to support our hunger relief efforts while sipping on festive cocktails, participating in a raffle and silent auction, and mingling under the early evening sun. The GBFB team was also in attendance and had a blast while sharing our mission and gaining more supporters. Some of the raffle and silent auction items included overnight stays at Boston’s finest hotels including The Lenox and The Four Seasons, restaurant gift certificates to The Capitol Grille and Tresca, Patriot’s tickets with tailgating packages, and more. Party guests were also able to enjoy the latest trends floating down the runway on the posh Rooftop. Overall the night raised $12,000 for The Greater Boston Food Bank. For every $1 raised, The Greater Boston Food Bank can provide three nutritious meals to families in need in Eastern Massachusetts. The Greater Boston Food Bank’s Kitchen Cabinet is a group of Boston-area professionals dedicated to ending hunger in our community. Since 2005, the group has engaged friends, colleagues and neighbors to raise awareness and funding through a series of signature events and special volunteer opportunities. This group of supporters provides financial support by attending two Kitchen Cabinet events each year, raising awareness, and promoting GBFB’s mission to end hunger here. Please consider joining the Kitchen Cabinet group so you can be part of fighting hunger in Eastern Massachusetts. Plus, you won’t miss out on our next event in the Fall!
